While at St. Helena, Napoleon took up gardening with such a passion that he would shoot any creature that entered his garden – including an ox owned by the East India Company that blundered through the gate. He shot the ox in the neck, killing him outright.The tally of carnage Napoleon inflicted on the local trespassing livestock is as follows:
– 4 chickens (1 escaped)
– 1 young pig
– 4 goats (1 escaped)
