I’ve written a couple pieces on different types of cavalry in thr last few months (Medieval heavy cavalry, the Plains Tribes of the Western U.S., etc). Who was the greatest cavalry force in all history – and why do you think they were the best (i.e. horsemanship, weaponry, tactics, etc)?

In the US, people seem to act like George Washington was an excellent general, but how did he compare to the British from a strategic standpoint?

Did he win the Revolution with his abilities or because of the help from the French and the failures of the British?
