This doesn’t seem to be working. I did all of the required steps but I haven’t got any notification or anything
27 Staters3 FavorInitiateAgree that we need an American Revolution group
27 Staters3 FavorInitiateThe Hessians being drunk at Trenton is one that always gets my goat – today being December 26 I am reminded of it

He very thoroughly covers the imperial apparatus employed by Great Britain from 1745-1775 and how that apparatus failed to restrain the rapidly growing American colonies. He is very sympathetic to the imperial system, which is something I greatly appreciate.
I’ll keep adding adding Revolutionary War books (and others!) to this thread
27 Staters3 FavorInitiateHe was very much not a great tactician. He was mediocre. He seriously bungled his dispositions during the 1776 New York campaign, so much so that had he not been rescued by a fog following his defeat on Long Island he would have lost virtually his entire force on the banks of the East River. At the Battle of Long Island itself, he was outflanked easily by the British, and he repeated the same error at Brandywine.
He was a man of incredible poise, stoicism, and strength, however; and it was his perseverance when catastrophe seemed all but guaranteed that ultimately earned him his place in the American pantheon.
27 Staters3 FavorInitiateAntique weapons are a really cool gift. I would love, for example, to own a real weapon used during the Revolutionary War. Even better would be if I could know who it belonged to, i.e. an officer’s sword
27 Staters3 FavorInitiateI think gamification is fine, as long as it doesn’t incentivize spammy posting or mutual liking just to gain clout or whatever. But we’re really small at the moment, so these concerns are a while in the future
